Pass the Pastel

First post! First post! How exciting.

I must say, I've been looking forward to this moment for sometime, but studies, work, and people tend to get in the way.  Not that I don't love those three things.
I do.

I just really want to to live in a world where fashion and styling are part of my job and an everyday task. Not that I don't enjoy dressing myself every morning, and maybe again in the afternoon (because not every outfit works for a whole day).

I do.

But I suppose I'd just like to get to a point where fashion can be a priority (not necessarily number one, but higher than it gets to be now).

Anyways. Now that I'm here, and the task of introductions are over - let's talk style.

This season it's pastels. By "it" I'm referring to the new black... it's pastels. The pinks, the purples, the teals, the blues. While it might seem obvious (think Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada..."Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking"), I don't remember a year where these beautiful shades blossomed in every store quite like this year. I feel feminine in pastels, and I find them very pretty. So I'd suggest you go out and buy some too, and then we can all sing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story together and complement each others taste.

Here is my take. It's still chilly in Canada so I kept my favourite toque on but paired it with my new favourite Dr. Martens, and a floral colourful crop. Call me old fashioned but I still enjoy wearing a watch (yes I do know that my iPhone has a clock), so I added a statement purple Tommy Hilfiger.

And my collection is growing! I recently bought this beautiful pink Vero Moda blazer from The Bay. Now all I need is a pastel purple floaty dress to go underneath. Any suggestions?

And my wishlist item today is a grand, purple, pastel, floppy hat from American Apparel. This one, right here, in the colour Beni Imo...apparently. I would really like it. We'll see what happens.

Thank you for listening happy fashionistas.

Later Days.
